What is a Missional Community?

A missional community is a family of missionary servants sent on mission by God to make disciples who make disciples.

Our vision is to see missional communities planted all over our city and the greater Greenville area. People living ordinary life together for the glory of God and seeking to reach their friends and neighbors with the good news of the gospel.

What do we mean by the term Missional? – Missional living means to do the work of a missionary. For us, it means to pattern our lives for the mission of making disciples. We believe the gospel has application for every aspect of life, and missional living is to bring the gospel to bare with those we share life with. We believe the gospel is essential for both Christians and non-Christians. Non-Christians need the gospel to know Jesus and Christians need the gospel spoken in to our lives to help shape how we live, move and have our being. The primary goal of missional living is to see life change through the power of the gospel.

Missional communities exist for the purpose of making disciples. Each MC is comprised of individuals from the gathering who target a people, share life with them and work to see gospel transformation in the lives of those they are engaging. MC’s represent the outreach ministry of Haven Ridge. Living sent is the mandate of every believer and the MC’s provide an organic method for building community and making disciples of Christ.

The people in our MC's interact with each other multiple times in a typical week to hang out, serve their communities, and study the Scriptures together. However, each MC makes it a point to get together weekly for a family meal and to study the Scriptures.

Currently, we have two MC's meeting inseparate locations. For more information on where those Missional Communities meet, please send us an email and we can fill you in on the details. One of the MC's meets every Sunday evening and the other meets every other Sunday from 5-7 pm.
